Living or Breathing to death

The Closet Floor

You are probably here because you understand the value of living life to the fullest. You grasp the concept that we are who we are, and we are nothing more than who He created us to be.

In the silence, the most profound things can be learned.

I have a passion for seeing people transformed holistically through the power of faith, health, and life. I find joy in small things and love talking about them to anyone who will listen. I am a father of two very energetic boys and a husband to the most wonderful woman alive. I am a Lyme survivor and a coffee nerd. I have a desire to help others through tough situations by offering hope, direction, and (most of all) an ear. I was born in a small, rural town located in northeast Ohio. After my fifth birthday, my parents packed us up and moved to southeastern Missouri. I learned early on that I am not cut out for small town life. I wanted to see the world.

Me

As a young adult, I did see the world. I helped build an elementary school in Mexico. I traveled from one coast of the U.S. to the other. I did an internship in Maui. I studied international business in central London. I even found love in the most peculiar way.

Faith

We focus on that still, small voice. We focus on the presence that holds us in our agony, the strong tower that defends us when we cannot. We take God’s promises to heart, and we focus on the love that He gives. We bind together with the glory of the Lord and sail into the sunset on the wings of eagles.

Health

Our bodies are the temple of the Lord. Are we fit for the call? This doesn't mean that we have to be fit marathon runners. It simply means that you're doing all you can to answer the will of God, whether it is helping those in need or writing blogs to be a voice of encouragement. Have you spent time on the mountain enduring the strong winds, earthquakes, and fires of your life, longing to hear that still, small voice?

Life

We live in a world that focuses on the negative to attract attention. There's a time and a place to focus on those horrible things, but there is also a time to enjoy the wondrous glory that surrounds you. We need to open our eyes to see that life happens all around us. From the small child amazed by the simplest joy to the mighty accomplishments that those before us have won, we seek to enjoy those moments.

It wasn’t until I became ill that my story began.

I began my journey from the closet floor and found comfort in the arms of the Lord. I understand the struggle within all of us to be something more. More than half of the U.S. population is bound by chronic illness, and that doesn’t include those who are misdiagnosed. Many live their lives in depression, seeking answers from anyone who will listen. We long for a day when the pain and suffering is eradicated. We struggle to understand why.

Come to me you weary
I will show you rest
Come to me you weary
I will give you rest
I am here to set you free
This is where you breathe again
This is where I set you free
— Future of Forestry: Rest

I invite you to breathe again.

Live a life worth living, and the life lived will be rewarding. Many with chronic illnesses find it hard to do any of these things. I know the struggle that keeps you prisoner in your own pain. My hope is to simply add a little bit of light for your soul to breathe.

I pray that you find rest and I desire that you be heard. We are here to listen, to connect, and to grow as a family.
